Located 4 miles to the East of Clacton, this semi-rural village was traditionally agricultural based and is still bounded by countryside with unspoilt marshland to the south which encompass Holland Brook. There is a mixture of housing types which are spread out of the main road through the village, with some of the older houses and cottages located close to the medieval church. The village has good road links to Frinton-on-Sea, Walton-on-Naze and Clacton-on-Sea, whilst still retaining its country aspects.
